Select a destination and you'll see a number of thumbnails. Select one and you get a bigger image. From there you can start a slideshow, or browse through the images. With each album there is an info page with information about the destination, featured sights, my trip, some links and sometimes extra stuff like sounds, movies, slideshows etc. |

About me
No, I did not start taking pictures when I was 4 years old. I liked photography since my early twenties but it was not since I discovered traveling a few years later that I got really into it. I followed courses and off course traveled to practise (well, to be honest that wasn't the only reason). And like most things, it starts to be more enjoyable when you improve your skills. Traveling for me is more than going on a holiday. It is more like a way of life. Packing your bags and leaving to interesting places, each with it's own special character. Colourful people. The wonders of nature and ancient cultures. Fascinating religions with equally fascinating rituals. And almost always there are lots of told and untold stories behind the things you see. Sometimes things will happen that make you feel like part of a story. Those are the best days of them all. Apart from a traveler and a photographer I am also a parttime IT specialist, webdesigner and (at the moment retired) bass player. I live in Haarlem, the Netherlands.

Publications
For publications I can deliver 18 or 30 MB TIFF files of the pictures shown here. I can also deliver smaller formats for use on websites. Apart from the pictures shown here I have a digital archive with thousands of images. If you are looking for a special subject please contact me. On demand I can send a CD with thumbnails of a country, a region, or a subject. You will find the prices very reasonable and I will allow certain (non-profit) organisations free use, if credits are given. For specific details: Mail to Theo |
Equipment
It all started out with a Praktika many years ago. From there on I started buying better stuff when I could afford it. I now have the following equipment:
And some old 'leftovers'… Offcourse I am not dragging all of this stuff around when travelling. I leave some things at home. But still it's always quite a load. But every time I look at the pictures I am glad I forgot to travel light.. |
